About Me

My name is Ruth Healy. I am a Humanist Celebrant.

Accredited by The Humanist Association Of Ireland and a registered solemniser with HSE Ireland which qualifies me to Legally perform weddings. I live in Castlebar Co Mayo with my husband and 2 children.

 

I have worked for the past 20 years as a professional florist in the wedding & events industry and prior to this taught speech & drama and effective communication to both children and adults.

‘Ahhhhhhhh so That’s what Humanism is !!!

 

I muttered to myself one dreary October day 15 years ago after reading an article entitled ‘Not my bag’ which in essence relayed how conventional religion is simply not for everyone and there are alternate philosophies to life that sit more comfortably and naturally with millions of people worldwide philosophies that should have greater recognition in the portrayal of todays societal beliefs and greater influence on the understanding of what basic human rights stands for.

As humans we are many and are diverse and it is the humanist view that we are also equal. Now that’s my bag !!!!
